The District 49 Board of Education Elections

Colorado School District 49 has five zones overseen by five Directors elected to the Board of Education. These Directors are elected positions held by community members and stakeholders to oversee and manage the School District.

Each Director must reside within the district in which they intend to run as a candidate and to hold office. The redrawing of the district maps to equalize distribution of students was completed in 2023. This change resulted in one Director becoming ineligible to run for re-election.

District 49 has been mired in controversy for the last two years due to a current Board Member and former Board Member, Ivy Liu and Jamilynn D’Avola respectively. These board members have been working with other community members to enact destructive, partisan policies and views that are detrimental to the education and well-being of our students.

In November 2023, we will elect three new Directors for Districts 2 (pink), 3 (green), and 5 (yellow).

Ivy Liu and Deb Schmidt are claiming on their propaganda website that this site was created to spread hateful and deceptive news about conservatives. This is partially true. We are posting the words of these candidates and citing their sources. The hate being spread is the words from the very mouths of Ivy Liu, Deb Schmidt, and Ralene Revord.

The exception we take with this statement is the idea that we are being deceptive. We have not posted anything beyond the words and actions of these candidates who malign our district, students, staff, and educators.

Who are ‘The Real Guardians of District 49?’

We are a group of concerned citizens that are raising awareness of the damage and intentions of some of the 2023 D49 Board of Education candidates.

Some of these candidates have cost the district thousands of dollars, filed frivolous lawsuits, in an attempt to cost the district money and enforce religious or partisan based policies and opinions from an official District Director.
